I was working on a new webite for my photos, and I was wondering if a few of you could give me some feedback. Its not all up yet, but there is a few photos, and I came up with a new layout rather than the other one I had. Remember your opinion counts.
Picture #3 is me.

What's different from the other layout other than the color? |

I like it. It's easy to use and looks nice! Good pictures too, by the way! :) |

the thumbnails (?) are too small and black... shouldn't you have them show what's I am going to see ? a preview ? real thumbnail ? |

didnt really mean them to be thumbnails, because I will be using them for something else on another page. If you clicked them that means people are paying attention to them.

The photos you have in there should be framed equally on opposite sides unless you are putting text or any other thing...
e.g. #2 men fishing, it has less room on top, more on bottoom... that looks very asymmetrical. |

As does photo #4, I will fix when I add my better pictures, I just threw these in until I get my new computer because my PS wont let me crop anything to the right size because I have no space left on my hard drive. My new computer will be here Saturday and I will be all good to fix them. Thanks for pointing it out.

On photo #3, I can see spots where it appears you covered something up. |

I like the simplicity of it but you can save load time by putting in a header tag to preload all of your images, and then attach a set image action to each of your squares to open the file in that center box. What this does is makes the whole thing one page rather than 7 seperate pages, and with them preloaded you can scan through the photos in notime flat.
Also maybe do a hover on those boxes so that when you put your mouse over the box a thumbnail pops up and then disapears when you move the mouse

It is Painfully Slow on dial-up!
I'm afraid that any potential customers you might have that are still using dial-up won't wait for the load times..
Also in both Firefox and IE, for some reason the thumbnails on the left arent showing up for me.
EDIT-- I just read that you planned the empty boxes as thumbnails..

those arent thumbnails they are just links, you see them alot on fashion photographers sites cause it forces you to look at all of the photos. I just think a hover would be good because it still forces the viewer to move the mouse over the image but you still get the advantages of a thumbnail

My thoughts are exactly the same for my comments left on the last last thread you started on this topic. |

nice site except the title font/color looks cheesy to me. Making the buttons "hover" instead of clickable is an easy way to deter people from saving your images...it doesn't make it impossible, but it's harder and people are lazy :-) |

I'm not a terribly huge fan of image maps. Anything that could be text should be text. Any backgrounds should be made as small as possible (find a way to tile them).
