Death to Facial Hair!

The Tao of Lee

Down, but definitely not out!

I did not enter, but thought about photographically better versions of images like these taken at Boot Hill Cemetery in Tombstone, Arizona USA.

Yes... these are for real!

Poor 'ol Lester!

I was planning on doing something different. Found some eagles fighting over a carcass and thought I would call it "Nature's Cemetery" but the pics just did not come out well as it was too far away and too much crop.

How do you think the idea would have gone over?

Oh lord! ahahah I just love that last one! Hung by mistake ahahah.

That's hilarious stuff! And really cool photos, too!

I went to two cemeteries, one with some beautifully carved headstones stones, the other with graves dating over 200 years old.

These were in my shortlist for entry. (Nothing like the one I finally entered).

I like it. Can't say if you made the right choice until I see the one you entered, but this one would be in the top 40% from what I saw of all the entries. Good luck.

I was wondering if any one was going to make it over to Boot Hill. That was one of the first things that popped into my head when I saw the challenge. I'm all up for getting a great challenge shot, but wasn't about to hop a plane cross country just to get one!! :-)

I really liked all the symbolism surrounding this shot, however I was not confident that symbolism would carry the day against spookiness and readable tombstones.

Thanks for the imput...I'm guessing by my current score ,4.8 that I should have stuck with this one.

I was going for something here when I took it, but didn't work the way I wanted.

A couple I was working on, but abandoned for a different direction altogether. The muddiness of color is intentional.

These are pretty neat pictures even though the overall quality suffers from being so distant. I think 3202 is the best. I get the connection to the challenge but the voters probably wouldn't have. The value of these shots is in revealing eagle behavior rarely seen. Where were they taken? Where I shoot, I'd be much more likely to see vultures acting like this than eagles. Thanks for sharing them.
