This is a bit of a silly question but I was wondering about the lens used to create this one:

from the latest Stock photography contest. The photographer states that the camera was handheld... could it be? 28-75 with an Image Stabilizer?

He doesn't state what the ISO setting was. This could account for the handheld crisp, low light image. The 28-75 has no IS.

I does state the ISO (400), and besides I don't see why the ISO would matter since he specifically states he used a shutter speed of 1/15.
Hmm...

I didn't read his setup as closely as I should before responding...:-)
At 1/15th of a second, with steady hands (and maybe something firm to lean against) you can get some pretty crisp images.

Agreed. For reference, this...
was taken hand-held at 1/5 second, using the Canon 24-70 at 24mm (38mm effective). Bracing is everything; I used the window I was shooting through to steady the camera.

I'm greatly impressed Kirbic. I suppose it also has to do with the sturdiness of the camera itself. I know it's really difficult to make sharp photos in slow speeds with mine.
Thanks anyhow, this whole thing started with a lens question... :)

I do believe that Josh's "Sweet Home Chicago" was also handheld, leaning against the glass.

I wish I had a steady hand. I swear it seems like sometimes I need a tripod in the daylight.
