I guess I better make this official since Iâve received a number of PMâs about it.

I was going to go to Mount Pleasant Cemetery this weekend to work on the âIn the Beginningâ challenge (ha ha) I donât have an official day, time or location (itâs 206 acres) in mind, but if anyone would like to join me then that would be great.

Now that I have said nothing is official, here is what my initial game plan was:

I was hoping for an early start around 9ish. I would prefer Friday or Saturday only because I am really eager to get there â but I can live with Sunday too. (I think I might hit the zoo and some other interesting locals this weekend so I can always flip my days around)

I would also like to shoot in the old section of the cemetery which I believe is near the main entrance â but honestly Iâve never been there and I am not familiar with that section of TO so I could be way off the mark. (Please enlighten me if you have a better geographical understanding of the cemetery)

Anyway, if anyone has some input or time/day preferences let me know. I am a pretty slow photographer as I am still learning my manual settings and I donât promise to be charming in person as this has been a genuinely stressful week.

That being said, if you want to come hang out with a grumpy, slow witted, mediocre photographer given to swearing when my camera doesnât behave, feel free to drop your name in this post.

i'm in the GTA but always been opposed to graveyard photography... not sure why, i guess it's respect, and the chance that I might capture 'something' other than what we see in the shot and be scarred for life... lol!

Not that I would every choose to be buried (I'm more of a cremation, throw me in the ocean kinda girl) thinking about it, I can honestly say for me, it would never be a respect issue. If someone wanted to make a beautiful photograph of my tombstone or permanent place of rest and share it with the âworldâ as a piece of art; I would consider it an honour and simply an alternative way of showing respect, as opposed to leaving flowers or a wreath.

As for the capturing âsomethingâ else⦠well that just makes you sound like a wimp. *wink* What kind of photographer wouldnât give their right arm to capture a once in a lifetime (no pun intended) shot.

I might be able to join in on Friday. Let me know once a time/place is determined. I took a look at Yahoo maps (if you enter Toronto, it centers 1 block south of Mt. Pleasant).

I also have Monday off. Anybody else?

I have monday of to but just relized that the cemetery challenge ends on the 27th. I will be in Saskatchewan till the 28th so I guess I'm out this one.

Let me know about the next venture.

I know but if it put a smile on someones face OR got you out of your sulky mood then it did its job :D

BTW: you really need to get msn messenger.

And this is a powerful sulk - one bad joke isn't going to do it!! =)

Would love to go, but already planing to take my 5 year old to the zoo and get some more great shots like the one below...

Count me in next time (the April adventure to where no one will speak of!)

Sorry for highjacking the cemetery thread to market my lion shots ;o)

I'm thinking of going to the zoo on Monday. Can you let me know if you find any particulary good shooting locations (Lions and Polar Bears are givens)

I second that motion as I am going to the zoo this weekend to - or the next depending on time.

Definately...The gorillas are great right now as Samantha gave birth to a unknown (sex that is) about 2-3 weeks ago so you can get some nice shots (if she's out in the open). Here is my version, but Randod300 and I believe di53 have better, crisper images.

Right now i'm in Michigan, and left my laptop and portable hard drives like a fool in Toronto. As soon as I get access to them again I'll post a few here. A good part weren't clear because I was following them as they were moving around, but i did get a few that are ok .
