Because not everybody believes in that particular god.

"In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable."
-- Bruce Lee

Also a good time to have children, if you were clever enough to plan in advance 9 months ago. Unfortunately a month too soon for me to squeeze a duck shot into the challenge though.

I think they left that part blank so you make your own desicion, otherwise it would have been In the beginning of time or life or whatever.
This leaves it pretty open so we should get some varied entries. IMO of course

Would have done if the other one had a more general title.

not really. I think it fits the challenge either way because of the title and the natural conflict that asks "what came first the chicken or the egg?"

In the beginning there were FOUR seasons. Now there is only eternal, endless, bleak, dark, gray, cold, depressing WINTER in NJ.

Another 5 to 8 inches predicted for tonight!

i interpret it as an evolution challenge myself...

i just realised how concieted we all our.
"in the beginning" and we instantly assume it has to be life on earth.
Really it could be starting a new book, as the gun is fired for a race - really the beginning of any significant event.

evidently - i will give a 10 to anyone that captures a supernova
or a cyanobacter for that matter.

In the beginning...i had a JamCam
OR as mesmeraj infers, an evolution challenge, so here is the chance to give one's missing link brother in law some fame!

Hmm...your first computer? First wife? First DPC entry? Light? Darkness?

In the beginning we were friends,
we became best friends then lovers.
Now we are back to the beginning,
in the beginning.......of the end. - [me]
