Private Sales of Photography Equipment (CAN or US)

I'd like to broaden my resources for used equipment purchases.

In the very near future I'm looking to buy:

16-35 f/2.8L or 24-70 f/2.8L
70-200 f/2.8L (likely IS) or 80-200 f/2.8L
TC 2x II Teleconverter
550EX flash w/cable
Canon 20d w/ grip

If anyone knows anybody looking to sell any of the above at a good price, I'd appreciate the info!

The real purpose of this thread, however, is to add to my list of sites that I visit to look for used stuff.

Of course, I check out fredmiranda.com and ebay.com as well as ezclassifieds.com...does anyone else have any other really good resources (especially in Canada)?

Try //www.keh.com KEH is in Atlanta. I have bought from them before and they are a great place to deal with. If they say it is s 10 it is.

I haven't bought anything from them in a while, but the dealings I have had with them were always on the up and up.

B&H sells some used stuff. I don't think the prices are bargains but you probably won't get burned.
Also there is a site called CambridgeWorld.com that lists alot of used lenses, but I don't know if they are reliable or not.

Thanks everyone...I was more interested in private sales, though. I find the prices are always much better, if you can grow to trust the seller and are able to test the lens beforehand...

atsxus, I'm pretty sure that Craigslist is notorious for being "unpatrolled" and having stolen gear on there...am I wrong? Also, nothing came up when I searched "canon ef".

DanSig, I need to stick with f/2.8 or larger if at all possible.

I don't know anything about stolen gear. I just know that everytime I'm told to look for something, a job, an apartment, merchandise, Craigslist is always mentioned. And it was in the news the other day, in a favorable light.

I've been thinking of selling/trading my 16-35L.

For sale for $1000, or trade for a Sigma 12-24EX and $300 cash.
