Please help. I have a couple lens attachments for my junkie camera and want to get a lens hood for each of the attachments. Problem is, lens hoods are usually made in standard sizes. I can get a 72mm lens hood, but the threading on the lens is approx 70mm. it may be 69mm. So I would like to get a step up ring to fit the attachment. Another issue is that any step up rings I have found are also usually a standard size to another standard size.
I have searched everywhere B&H, ebay, amazon, about 20 different step-up ring manufacturers and distributors. I can't find anything close. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a place that has a step-up ring of any size, or a kit of rings where each ring increases by 1mm, and would let me use the ones needed?
I also contacted the manufacturers of both lens attachments, and neither makes a step-up ring, or a lens hood to fit their lens. I guess that is what I get for using third party accessories because their sizes are different than the ones Olympus makes for my camera. Blah. The lenses aren't bad, but they flare like crazy if the shot I want is too close to streetlights, and I like night shots a lot. When I don't use the lens attachments, a hood over my standard ring adapter works perfectly, I just wish I could do the same with my wide-angle attachment. Camera is Olympus c-740. |
