I just won a photo contest and they want me to send them a 300dpi version of the winning image. What do I have to do to get a 300dpi version? please help....I'm sorry I'm stupid

Did they say what size they wanted it?

You can use the resize function in Photoshop Elements 3, and I assume Photoshop, to set the size and DPI to what ever you want, it will scale the pixel as needed.

I'm still not seeing it, I have photoshop 7.0 and elements 2.0 but I can't find any sort of dpi settings

Just resize the image to 300dpi. Go to Image/Image Size. look towards the bottom of the dialog box and you will see Resolution. Type in 300.
