"I Hate Sally" is the name of the band I saw, but it makes an interesting thread topic, doesn't it?
The band would hop on and off the stage and come to the audience so I got a few close ones. There wasn't a lot of light so I had to use the flash.

Anyway, check them out here:

She looks like a very interesting personality. I like the first shot, except for the hand and guitar that are adrift by her left shoulder.

Joey, you are a wonderful photographer. I like them all, but the last one is my favorite. You should show her these!

yes, very interesting thread topic...i just had to know who sally was. ;) i think i like the first one the best... i could totally see it on the inside jacket of their cd. i do like the last one, but unfortunately it reminds me of a bizarre experience i had seeng L7 at CBGB's a few years ago. remind me to tell you about that. :)

Alecia's right - first one is great. She's also right about the funky thread topic... way to stir up some interest.

Last one my favourite too. Is that done by zooming during the exposure?

Last one is very cool. If you ever contact them, i'm sure they'd be interested in those pics for publicity purposes.

Great pics, your camera's done a great job of focusing which is pretty tough under those conditions.

Hey thanks for the comments everyone! :-)
After the show I spoke to her and showed her the pictures on my little camera screen, she loved them and gave me the band e-mail address.
They'll probably be up on their site a bit later.

Oh, and Kavey that blur on the last picture was just done on photoshop, it is a "zoom blur" which is a selection under "radial blur." I can't change the shutterspeed on my camera so I have to rely on PS. :-)

well i'd have to go with the 1st and the last from this set.......

knowing that the last was done in PS takes a little away for me but not much (it begins to feel like a "preformance" stck shot)

but the 1st if it was croped to get rid of the bass guitar players hand and ax would be a very chilling shot.

could be a CD cover if it was in the right orientation.......(the others don't have quite the same feel as the 1st and are just kind of blah.....[don't take that to hard but they don't pop] they seem as just any old shots of a rock band)

anyway i remember a guy i spoke with that did a shoot of (the great) jimmi hendrix he use the smoke on the stage to totaly get rid of hendrix except for in some shots he apeared as a silo., i asked the guy what did u do that for u could've had some great shots of the legend.....he replyed: "its not what is there in an image is what is not there".......the last has the mistque to it and i feel it the strongest of the bunch.

great job, GL in future shooting.

I may just have to try that on one of mine ;-)
