Hello all...
I presently have an HP 945, but I hung on to quite a collection of old Nikon 35mm equipment. I'm looking into buying a used D1, since it accepts all my old lenses and flashes. I'd like to get some feedback on whether or not it is a wise purchase. Thanks a bunch...

Well I obviously havent used one... I'm assuming that they are terrific in build quality and feature set due to the pro nature of the camera... but at 2.6 megapixels I would assume that the shots you get aren't going to make for high quality good sized prints. I guess it depends what you want to do with your shots.
Of course I'd definately wait and see what someone more familiar with the camera says. |

D1X or D1H?
I use a D1H (2.7 mp) occasionally and am happy with the performance - fast focusing, strong construction, good ergonomics, good image quality. I'll echo that the resolution may be insufficient for large printing/cropping. Aside from that its a very nice camera. I don't have any experience with the D1X if thats the one to which you are referring.

| Hi the Nikon D1 is a great camera but I assume that your lenses should fit on a D70 D100 ect because Nikon has kept the same mount. I have a few older type lenses and they fit my D70 no problem just thort 3D matrixing etc but they should all fit fine and work even if in manual mode only. |
