Remember this?
Kylies recent ribbon winner.
Got myself some starburst brushes from the Digital Photo mag cd. I wanted to play on an image and thought kylies pic would make a great subject.
Slight crop
Curves
Way too many starbursts
NI
Desat
Converted to Quadtone

To be honest - it's an interesting version of a great image, but I actually like the color of the original much better. And I agree with his own admission of the excessive use of the starbursts.
Bottom line - I like it, but not as much as the original. :) |

hmmmmm .... now if you took the original photo, added just a FEW starbursts in a rather subdued manner, then you'd have an awesome combination!!

Thanks Ken & Karin. Yes there are too many starbursts and done more subtley it would look better, I'm not known for subtle editing but I plan to learn lol. I think the slight crop helps the image though. I can't get my own ribbon so have to play with someone elses lol

You are right - the slight crop helps the composition quite a bit, but besides that the original is more appealing to me - mainly because of the colour.
And yeah... I can't blame you - its easy to do with a new toy, but you did go overboard :P! |
