I've been wanting to get a softbox, but I have absolutely no idea wheather I should buy one or make my own. I only need one that's probably 50cm X 50 X 50 or so. what would you recomend?

I bought a big one on ebay 2ft x 2ft for about $20. After seeing the going prices i decided not to bother making my own.
oh btw, this one was for strobe/monolights only.

| well in the old days we use to take a white sheet on a form and place it in front of the light source. You can even suppend it from the ceiling. I still use them but I baught the material from calumet photographic. They even sell frames. |

| If you are cheap but moderatly handy the Tinker tubes system can go a long way in setting up a on the fly studio. I like it because it all breaks down when my studio becomes a wood shop, or project area. this rather large pdf takes you through making all sorts of toys from softboxes, to lightstands from PVC tubing and hardware store basics. |
