OK I have the Canon 16-35 'L' and the 100-400 IS 'L' lenses, but I have a bit of a gap. The obvious filler is the Canon 28-80 f2.8-4 'L', but I have not heard many people speak of this lens. Is there anyone out there who can give me a recommendation?

Do you mean the 24-70 f2.8 L or the older 28-70 f2.8 L that was replaced by the 24-70? |

The Canon 28-80 f/2.8-4L is an old old Canon zoom introduced in 1989, pre-dating the 28-70mm f/2.8. To fill the gap you have, get the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8, this is probably Canon's sharpest Zoom ever.

I have the 28-80 and love it. Use it as my everyday lens. Works well. Anything else you looking for?

Another option is the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. I have it and love it. Check out the review at fredmiranda.com.

I love my 24-70 lens!
Took these a couple of days ago with it. Amersfoort |
