bug macro from today - not too many bugs around this time of year.
1:1 - cropped only to the aspect ratio - ISO 800 - f:2.8 - 1/400th
handheld both the pen and the camera.

Seeing those wing covers in the "up" position reveals what a wonder it is some insects can fly. Yet each of those obstacles as we see it winds up aiding them in some way. Nice photo. |

well, i was standing near a glass door. this guy would mainly fly directly into the glass, and fall to the floor. then i would pick him up with the pen again. he may have dropped out of flight school.
i would have liked a bit more depth of field, but there wasn't enough light.

Wow... I just realized that suckah was shot at 1/400th of a second. IMAGINE the speed of those wingbeats to blur like that at 1/400th...
