heh...at least you graduated something...I have a similar addiction -- I'd sell my kid (if I had one).

Yea, good point. Flu + close quarters = bad. I guess I'm just going to bus it down there. Maybe I can bum a ride back into Oakland after the parade if any of you are heading past there. Time to dust off the Pitt ID and get out the old bus schedules.

ok, just to confirm:

the pittsburgh dpc'ers are meeting at 9 am on grant street by the bruegger's bagels behind the william penn hotel.

if this is correct, i will see you all there. if not....well, you'll know where i'll be.

alright, everybody ready to freeze their asses off in the name of photography?! woo hoo!

At this time i am about 60% sure i'l be there...i hate the flu! the onnly good thing, if you can call it that, is to work last night i got a stoked up on generic sudafed tyep stuff..full of pseudohedrine. that stuff was on the news last night..they plan to make it harder to buy OTC...all i know is i was still awake and wired at 4 am!
03/11/2005 03:22:13 PM · #31
the only reason they're making pseudoephedrine harder to get is because its 1 synthetic step away from becoming a precursor to many illegal drugs. (amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDA, MDE, MDMA, etc...)

OK, Mike and I will be at the Brueggers at 9 then? Now to figure out where to park.

that explains the speed-like effect. Had a viagra like effect too....

Don't wait for me tomorrow - if i am not there by 9:15 then assume i home in bed on speed, i mean, cold medicine.

I love psuedophedrine. When are they making it harder to get -- I'm about to go stock up now!!!

Seriously, I had a cold a few months back and I took some before work -- I felt drunk all day ... it was great!

Turns out I won't be able to make this after all. I totally forgot that Bowl for Kids' Sake is that day.

I just got back in the area and talked w/ brian. I'll definitely be there too. I guess that makes three of us, unless hanlomba wants to come down to the parade w/ his models after his shoot! hehehe

You pussy! It actually wasn't that bad, it was the best shoot so far. There were off/on showers, the equipment got a little wet, but held up great. The lens hood really helps to keep snow off the front of the lens.

Yea, we had a great time. Already processed my images, more keepers than I expected. We kept getting the old "Are you guys taking pictures for the newspaper?" I guess the white canon cannon gives us away. Not sure if I have any money shots, but here's a few highlights:

OK, and for the requisite goofy DP folk shots:

Mike (Lykofos), doing his "Yea, I'm with KDKA news" routine.

Jeff (Jeffzoet) Caught in the act.

A little Riverdance!! Notice the empty beer.

Drunk chicks....

I'm still doing some post processing, but here's one:

What are the odds? This was totally unintentional and I only realized it once I was going through the shots on my computer. We were at several different random locations along the parade route and on both sides of the street. Take a look at Prof_Fate's parade photo on the first post in this topic. Now take a lool at my photo below. The exact same marching group, at the exact same location (only a few feet further down, notice the same garage in the right hand portion of the photo), from almost the exact same perspective:

so brian, did you end up getting a parking ticket, or were you good to go?

and come on mike, you're too slow! get those prints up! out of 300 shots, i'm sure that there are a few worthy of looking at!

to all the other pittsburgh dpc'ers:

sorry you couldn't make it. it turned out to be a great time. i'll admit that when i looked out the window at 8:30am, i thought "oh hell no." but i decided hey you only live once, and it turned out to be a great time, even with some crap weather on and off.

we'll have to do it again real soon. there is now a new competition on how many times you can get asked "Are you with the newspaper?" while you're shooting. i'm starting the contest at 4 times today. brian, mike, can you top that?
