I have to admit, this has been the hardest challenge for me to score. There are so many aspects to think about when viewing these images. The tonal quality of the image must be of the highest standard. The image must be sharp and completely in focus. The image must not have telephone poles and wires running through it or stores and cars present anywhere. The image must be interesting and pleasing to view. The image must be B&W. Although there are some very nicely taken photographs in this challenge, many fall short in one way or another. My scores have been more middle of the road then usual. Less High Scores and less low scores. No 10's yet. I'm still working on it and will go back and review the better ones before it is all over, but this challenge has really allowed the cream of the photographers to rise to the top. Ansel Adams was not just someone who took nature pictures. He was about complete control of his images. There were no mistakes. He had absolute control, and there are a few photographers in this challenge who have shown they know how to handle a camera. Great Challenge! |

These may be your voting guidelines but not the rules. The rules state 'in the style of' not a reproduction of so cars and telephone poles would be ok imho. AA also did colour work so why mark it down?
I think those closely following AA's more famous landscapes (rather than style)will do best.
