hi guys,

just thought i'd say a quick thanks for entertaining me at the weekend... sorry i had to bugger off kind of sharpish, but the other half was only the previous day just back from a week-long business trip abroad, and there was no food in the house. girl needed feeding - and me pigging out in china town would not have gone down at all well.

i've gone through the pictures i took. they're all depressingly rubbish! they're all blurry! how do you not do blurry? BTW, special inspiring mention must go to chiqui74 and bod - i walked the same walk as them and NOTHING I have is remotely as splendid! what fantastic eyes they have. i have if nothing else been inspired to learn and practice more - and LOOK around a lot more; there really is loads of stuff to shoot. who'd have thought a bunch of t-shirts could look so lovely?

oh, and they're brave for doing all those candids. June, did the shot of the bloke who posed for you just after leaving the station come out?

i really enjoyed the GTG3. It's a slight pity we split into two groups - i would have liked the chance to have a chat more with the southbank bunch. anyway, if it's not a problem, i will definitely be rsvping for LGTG4. woo!

Thanks, I'm flattered! I didn't process that pic but I will in a minute. I thought it was really funny how he just pulled out his camera and took a pic of me taking a pic, what a sport! I really had a great time and I agree that it's shame we split up.

Here's the pic! Pic

Looks like I missed out on a great time! Never mind I had to put up with temps in the 30 somethings out in Luxor! Hope I can make the next GTG. Anyway here are a few of my shots of Luxor, there are loads more but I have not sorted them yet!

That's too funny. Look at those eyes!
I think I very nearly got a picture of him taking a picture of you taking a picture of whatever, but I was too darn slow.

Dave, the big "secret" is years of practice and hard studying, learning from the top pros in the business, sweating blood, walking barefoot over red hot coals to get the perfect angle ... or, just shooting lots and only showing the good uns ; )

I know what you mean about it being a shame to split up BUT it was hard enough to keep 10 together... 20 would have been haaaaaaaaaaard!

If you're interested in the next one can you post on the new GTG thread, link somewhere above!

I'm sooooooo impressed with all the talent - some amazing pics... Bod, yours included!

Met up with Skiprow yesterday evening for a couple of hours and took this one (among others) when the Thames was nice and low. Ended up at the ancient Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street for a pint.
: )

Edit: just as well that shot was blurred I reckon Ed!

Still plodding through the processing ...

As I mentioned before the G2G, I booked a hotel near London Bridge so that I could stumble outside after watching the Australian Grand Prix at silly o'clock in the morning. My plan was to shoot a stunning sunrise over Tower Bridge.

I've loved Tower Bridge ever since '89 when we used to make a point of driving over it on our way to and from Brixton where we went to see the likes of Soul II Soul at The Fridge, and the big US Hip Hop acts like De La Soul, Ice T, Public Enemy and Big Daddy Kane at The Academy. Those were the days!

Anyway, it's flippin' cold on the banks of the Thames at 5am. Looking back I could have got a better variety of shots from some better locations, and I could have stayed out longer ... but my hands had dropped off.

Best gig I saw at the Academy was Living Colour... I loved that band.
