Yes, it will be so very nice to have a 120GB Flash Card now!!! I read most last week that Canon released a super cool wireless transmitter that willing allows you to take a photograph and it instantly in blink will transfer automatically photo to your computer or laptop (they showing photo of unit with 20d in sample photo it goes underneathcamera in tripod socket)!! Has anyone else have this and how do you like? I am looking over internet now and now can't find and I'm getting worried, does anyone else hearing about this already? was i justing dreaming too fondly for wishes?!

Oh, I would so kill for one of those transmitters!!!

The article though only makes reference directly to the 1Ds MkII.

There is mention of it being "backwardly compatible with other EOS digital SLR's " though.

Anyone found any more info on this and if it would work with a 20D.

Having said that, I can't see me being able to afford one anyway :( I note that B&H have the product listed, but without a release date or price, and they state it is for the 1Ds MkII.

Ok, found out a little more.

1) Price is insane for something like a 20D, as it looks like this is going to be almost US$1000

2) From B&H:

The transmitter will also be compatible with the EOS-1D Mark II and the EOS 20D digital SLR cameras via a firmware upgrade.

Can somebody translate the data transfer rate for me?

I shoot youth sports and youth performances, trying to transfer full 1G cards in a dark crowded theater is a challenge at times. This sounds like a dream come true!

I have no idea about the transfer terms, but have you considered something like a Compact Drive? It's like the better known X-Drive II but x5 the speed.

With mine I slide the card in a hit a button, can literally do it with your eyes shut (i.e. easy in a dark theater). It will transfer a 1 Gb card in just under 3 mins, well before you can fill up a second card in usual circumstances.

I agree, wireless would be far better ... but very expensive, especially as I don't think it works with the 10D so you'd need to look at a camera upgrade as well.

That will be great for news photographers that have a dead line to beat. Just an expensive toy for the rest of us. My flash card reader works just fine. I may get a flashtrax for trips.

One wedding photographer is putting this technology to good use. Although he's using the Nikon variety, since they implemented it way ahead of Canon.

No, plugging them together is actually quite easy :)

What I find hard though is finding a USB cable for my desktop that will stretch from my house to wherever I happen to be with the camera that day. Anyone know where I can get a cable that stretches from my house out onto the reef for an upcomign fishing trip? Needs to be about 85 miles long, so I suppose it should also come on some sort of a spool ;)
