Got some new glass today, and figured I'd have some fun with inconsequential items around the house. Here is the best one:



Anyone have experience with the Sigma 105mm DG F2.8? It seemed like the best buy for my buck.

i recently got the lens myself and I love it....

here is one of my samples from the sigma 105 2.8

Great band shot! Really amazing with the majority of the color coming from the clothing of the band members. Great job!

jacko uses it for most of his bug shots i believe coupled with a reversed 50mm prime lens. check his stuff out jacko

i have the lens too and its by far one of my favorite lenses.

QUESTION

this lense has a ring around it's middle that locks the lense into/out of place by moving it forward or backwards, so that you don't inadvertantly change the focal length while taking your picture - at least that's what I'm assuming it does, since it doesn't mention it in the "manual" the lense comes with....

but does it do anything else? Haven't quite figured it out yet...
