And one I was thinking of for the AA challenge
Halfway down the hill after rock city.
It never ceases to amaze me how others see things that I don't when we are in the same places. I love the gnome home Sonda. |

Brennan- wow, that's really a great picture. Did you take that in the morning, on the way up? I didn't see any clouds like that past 9 AM!

Don, those are fine pictures. And I'm especially glad that you photographed the running spaceman you found! The Madrone trunk is also pretty special. |

It took a while, but Keith Haring was the artist's name I was trying to think of when I thought of your "Running Spaceman" lichen image. |

Bearing in mind that this is the tiniest possible slice of the beauties of northern California, here are a couple more from Mt. Diablo on the 5th of March when the intrepid 5 went out to try to do it justice. Gnomes? Spacemen? Hmmm, do these fit the category, or do they need their own nickname...;>)

Ladies, you do flatter me :)
Eva, I really like your picture with the little cloudie. It's just so cute. I saw that cloud, but didn't think to take a picture of it--I'm glad you did.
Alice, you sure put that Sigma macro to good use. Great tonal range.
Here's another I took, photoshopped to all heck, and decided just wasn't good enough for the AA challenge. I don't like my actual submission much better... but I figured I'd post the outtake just for fun, and because it's one of few pictures from the 5th that I've actually edited.
I wish I had the time right now to edit the rest of 'em, but I just don't. This is the tenth week of a ten-week quarter, and I have so many papers to write I don't even know what to do with myself! More coming someday...
