I took some photos of bluejays in my side-yard this morning and thought this one looked funny. I wish the focus were a little better though. He shook his head and everything on his head except his eye got motion-blurred.
Here's an ok shot of him:

Hah, that "headshake" shot is craaaaazy! I don't know what you've got here... it isn't a jay, however. More likely a species of bluebird, but I didn't find anything that matches in a quick search.

Ya, I'm not sure exactly what they are, as a real bluejay I think are bigger with a crest on their head (we have those up further in the mountains). These are all over here in Los Angeles. |

thats some limber bird to be able to rotate his head around his eye ball like that

Cool pic. Not a typical bluejay, but rather seems like the "coastal californica" Western-scrub Jay, as pictured here.

Yes, it's a Western Scrub Jay, we saw all the time in Southern California... Which, I now see, is where you are, so that's what you've got...
