No sharpinging at all. Just auto levels, contrast, and color. Then crop 1.25:1 and added a border. But no sharpening at all. |

Excellent job I think! And handheld at full zoom . . . wish I could do that.

Looks good...I think the grass in the second photo is throwing me off...it's really weird looking or something...don't you think?
Ever try to catch one flying, it's nearly impossible...I give everyone who has a bird flying a lot of credit.

I think it's because the pigeons body is smooth up against the grass which was taken from a low angle and a f2.8 shallow dof. I don't know but yes it does look different. |

f2.8 with IS at full 12X is fun:

The first one looks sharp enough to me but I wish the bird were facing the camera. It is a good picture all the same, I really like robins. This winter we were very lucky to have many of them around. Here is a shot I took of one recently.

I didn’t have a 12x zoom or a max aperture of f/2.8 (4x zoom, 640mm equiv. and max aperture of f/5.6) hand-held. I still think it is a reasonably good picture though I don’t really care for the post the bird is perched on.
The second one looks pretty soft though it is also a pretty bird.
