I am looking for areas in the north eastern area of Illinois that provide some rolling landscapes, maybe a small cliff or two. If anyone from the area has any experience I'd love it if they could share.

North east? I would say that with all the development around that area....good luck. Take a road trip to the west towards Starved rock, or south towards Kankakee, or better yet hit Wisconsin or Michigan. I havent lived up there for a few years, but I still visit frequently.

Personally, I'm going to the the Cook County Forest Preserve just southwest of Chicago this weekend, but otherwise I can't recommend any rolling hills or cliffy places nearby. (I really need to get out of Chicago more often.)

You could also try Starved Rock State Park about 90 miles west of Chicago. Here are some other nearby state parks you could investigate further. (I've never been to any of them, so I can't recommend anything.)

If it's not too far you might try Devil's Lake State Park near Baraboo, WI.

Or head just south of Madison to the Govonor Dodge State Park. I've had good luck with pictures there.
