Is it just me or does there seem to be an influx of new members?
There are just so many new names around that I don't recognise at the moment.

Well - Just did a search using the Community/Photographer Profiles area and came up with 63 new Members since 2/1/2005.

Jioned in Jan. Found this site on a google search once I decided to get more into photography. Only been here a little over a month and have learned a lot.

I'm "new". Have been a member for quite a long time (since last summer, maybe) and I love to stay here. Haven't entered pictures in any challenges yet, but I hope I'll dare one day. ^^

One caution to all new comers. Check the date on your camera to avoid disapointment due to disqualification.

Easiest way to track the number of new users is by checking the About page in the drop-down menu under Help. I think 200-300 per week is normal.

You can also check on new paid members this way by selecting "Member" from the "membership type" drop-down.
A few members inevitably drop out during any period as well, so it's useful to track the total number of paid members over time. In December of 2003 we had just over 800 paid members; the same time in '04 we had almost 1700. We're now approaching 1850 and still growing fast.

New also (10 days or so)
hope that abit-o-challenge will make me think harder about the picture i take
having fun so far - interesting community
thinking about becoming a 'member'
but don't have use for the storage space so am not sure of cost benifit

Come on, dig deep (actually it's not that deep). Membership is definitely worth it, so many more challenges to take on.

That is true. That $25 seems like pennies compared to what I have learned in just a month of my membership. Money well spent.
