Is it legal to sharpen images after adding borders? If not, I'll have to post process all over again; I forgot to save the crop :(

Hmm, I hope you're sure, It adds a halo around the borders. I wonder if it would appear as a fancy border to some voters.

crop the photo without the border, sharpen, then re-add the border.

What deapee said. Sharpening with borders is death. Just crop the image out of the border, sharpen, and make a new border. If the border is an "inset" border you're out of luck.

Definately agree with the 'sharpen before adding the border.' If you want a sharp crisp border, shaprening over it will not help you at all!

If it looks good to you, use it. It's certainly legal...
