I have a $350 budget, and I am looking to get some continous lighting. Probably going to get it off ebay. Does anyoone know a good setup, on ebay right now.

I recently bought this set and I am very happy with it.
JTL Everlight Kit - 1150watts

Comes with everything you would need and the case that comes with it can hold up to 3 lights. So if you want to expand. you have the room.

Do you think the soft boxes are good. I was thinking of something with barn doors. I'm not real sure of lighting yet. Thats why I want to ask around to find what would work best.

Thank you.

Don't forget to add a light meter into your budget.

Or you could just trust the camera (sarcasm)

I think softboxes are excellent. It's an excellent way to diffuse light. You can always buy add on attachements for the lights. The softboxes are actually a little more expensive than other accessories. Remeber when you are dealing with 1150 watts of light, a softbox is your friend.

If you don't have it in your budget to purchase a light meter, that's ok. What I normally do is take a few test shots and check the histogram, then I make adjustments. That's what is great about digital, you really don't lose anything with shooting some test shots to get the lighting correct.
