The most common complaint I've seen on these forums is that some people vote 1,2,or 3 without an explanation. Now I'm hearing you can only give positive feedback. DNMC will easily and clearly explain why the photo got a 3. Do you want to know or not. By the way, I've never given a 1 or 2, do give some 3's. |
I don't guess that's what she said. She said if you are going to take the time to leave a comment then at least take the time to say something that will help the photographer who entered it. If not, why bother?

It may not help them to be a better photographer but it will help them to score higher in future challenges if they gain insight into how some voters percieve the requirement to meet the challenge. A comment of "dnmc" all by itself is better than no comment at all.
Perhaps by using the shortened version, dnmc, the commenter will have more time to do constructive criticism on that entry, and other entries.

Harvey, there was no harm in sugesting it, but it most likely will not work. You have new members coming in all the time, and others who don't bother with these threads. If you leave some all before unknown acronym as a comment on someone's entry you will do more to create confusion then you will to enlighten.

I think it could work. Just one more little thing to educate the newbies about. The more widely used it becomes the less the confusion.

Overall, we have a wonderful community here at DPC. Informing newbies that some of our members don't have enough time to type "does not meet challenge", which takes about 1-3 seconds, may be giving them the wrong idea.

Being a newbie, I would walk around the rest of the day wondering what DNMC was. |
