I tried my first go at "Flowers" tonight.
What do you think of this...
Any ideas on improvement??

Thanks

Blue background and yellow flower the perfect contrasting colors. Don't you just love how nature provides the droplets of water for the main subject :P

I really like it a lot except for the bottom is blurry... Great detail on the top though with the water drops... Very good start though. I wish my first flower shot was this good.

I really like this one! Especially the mist...
I would try to experiment with the positioning of the flower (move it away from the center), and try moving the light source area around.

To clarify - this is excellent, I am just giving you suggestions on what could be even better.

I too wish the flower had more DOF, but it is still a great shot as is. Very nice work, great light, great colors. 9

I always seem to like water drops on plants and the colors are very vibrant. Nice shot!

In addition to what others have said, I think the shot might look better if the background color gradient weren't quite so severe. I think a gentle gradient from light to dark blue would let the flower stand out nicely wihout detracting from the subject. But even without that, this is a really beautiful photo.

Is it me or does that flower look a little too perfect to be real?

Very nice (gerber daisy?) start..I don't care for the blur but the upper right portion with the blue backdrop..super!

this image would have much more impact if it had a greater dof. however still very nice, keep up the good work

I agree with what has pretty much already been said. I love the colors (for my personal tastes, I don't find the gradient too severe) and I would have liked a bit more DOF

I like it. The blue and the yellow are great and the saturation is good. I find the bottom left a little bright - maybe a little tighter crop. Other than that very well done.
