I'm really disappointed. I ordered a Panasonic FZ15 from the US 12 business days ago, after confirming all items were in stock and would ship in 24 hours and today I found out the items have not even left the store. So much for shipping timelines. I just cancelled my order and stopped payment on my credit card. Now I'm back to square one, ordering from another store and waiting more time!!! Argh I'm so excited to start taking pictures again, I've started walking around blinking and making click sounds whenever I see something interesting.
On an up note, I think this time around I'll just go for the FZ20. (If I can find one)

Ok this is too much of a coincidence.
Just checked my e-mail, exactly 5 minutes after I sent my cancellation e-mail, I get a shipment confirmation. I ordered from etronics.com and was told when the items arrived in Michigan, Borderfree would repackage for customs clearance, ship and bill me for the camera - then the items would be shipped to Canada.
Well I tracked the package and it is apparently already in Mississuaga (Canada) and I have not been billed yet, nor did I receive a payment request on my VISA.
Not sure how this is going to work now, as I asked my credit card company to stop payment on the package this morning.
This appears to have been an experiment gone wrong - I did my research though and etronics.com does not have a bad reputation.

Did you ever deal with //www.cameracanada.com ? They're in London and have the best prices in Canada.

Well... if you get a package and your payment has been cancelled, you will have one very upset retailer...hehehehehehe.
If indeed the package is already in Mississauga, I would communicate with the retailer, explain your concerns, notify your credit card company and wait for the package.
It would be counter-productive to start the whole process anew, particularly in view of the fact that the package is "almost" in your grasp.
Just a thought...

orussell: I did actually check out many CDN retailers including cameracanada.com (they don̢۪t sell Panasonics) before ordering from the US. Price wise no one came close to the US prices.
In this order I bought a 512 60X SD card and an extra battery, as well as the camera. After taxes, duty shipping etc.. The difference between CDN rates and US rates was exactly half. So if anything ever went wrong and the warranty was an issue I could buy a new camera, and still not be out any money. (Which still continues to amaze me)
RayEthier: I got your PM and appreciate the offer – clever way to save money. Normally I would have taken a road trip to save on shipping, but things around here have been very hectic. I also considered having the items shipped to a friend in the US and then resent to me, but etronics had fairly cheap shipping rates and they said it would ship in 24hrs so I decided just to have them ship it direct.
Anyway... it̢۪s all kinda funny now, and certainly less annoying then it was an hour ago.
And you̢۪re right, it̢۪ll be even funnier if tomorrow I get a camera and my credit card remains unbilled.
(Just kidding, I’m far too honest – I’d fix the payment issue, although it would be awful tempting to take a free camera for about all of ten seconds)

Great news........and happy shooting. With regards to batteries, the absolute cheapest I have found to date were obtained through Amazon.com from a company by the name of SterlingTEK.

Ok it's official now!!! Yes, the package just arrived in the post and ironically enough, according to the store it has not yet shipped. I haven't been charged yet on my credit card either. I think I'm gonna wait a few days and then give them the heads up, if they don't figure it out by then.
Right now I'm just putting in the time watching the battery charge!!!!

Congrats. It's almost like one of those credit card commercials (ironically enough) where they say, "If life were really like this you wouldn't need......." Enjoy. :)
