I was lucky as the owls just sat on the branch looking aroung for food. The second one I was no more than about 10 feet from the tree.

For the flight shots panning and using burst mode to take 3 or 4 in a row will help.

All mine were taken around 10am, so lots of light. I was a bit surprised to see them at that time since it was bright and sunny.

They are great pictures, we are really fortunate to have them around! They are just less active in bright sunlight!

Great Pictures Colette!They are still around out here,I see them almost every day! They are expected to move back up north very soon with the warmer weather! I sure hope they stay for a few more weeks!

they are great looking birds. It looks like they pose for you everytime you get your camera out. :o) Always seem to be looking at you

Thank You! I am just lucky to live where they do at the moment! They are pretty at ease around humans! Their heads swivel around a lot, they are really intent on locating prey.

I have not seen a Great Grey for over a week now although my neighbour said he has seen one. I did see this Snowy today!
