I just got the Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0/Plus Premiere Elements program a few days ago. Since I'm still very much in the "learning curve" part, I've figured out how to do a lot of things with this program, but sometimes find myself getting confused on (probably) easy simple stuff. I've got a couple of questions. Can someone that has this software help?
1. When you save pictures with this program on a cd, does it save only the pictures or does it also keep them categorized in the different albums that you set up/put them in? (I'm wondering if you are going to all that trouble, only to lose all of that organization if your computer crashes or you buy a new computer.) It's nice to have them all separated into different catagories on the computer now, but if you have hundreds/thousands of pictures to re-categorize later, it would be a real pain, you know?
2. I was in the "Organizer" section & put some pictures in the "Collection" section to edit them. I made up a "fix me" section/collection like they showed on the dvd that comes with the program. I then proceeded to edit the pictures. This is the dumb part I got confused on. How do I save them & put them back with the other pictures? They kept having a picture of a lock on them that said that they were being edited. I kept looking for something that said save pictures but couldn't find it. So, what am I supposed to do after I edit them? Thanks! |

If you go into the "quick fix" or the "Standard Edit" to edit your pictures, what do you click on to find where to save them? That's what I haven't been able to find. I don't see anything that says "save picture" or "save picture as...". I know this is probably stupid but that's where I'm confused. I keep reading on the instructions with the software that I need to save the changes (yeah, I knew that!) but it doesn't say how. I'm new to the whole digital scene. I had been using a 35 mm camera and got my first digital cam. for Christmas. I've learned a LOT so far & have come a long way in just 2 months, but sometimes get stuck on stupid little things that people who have been doing digital a long time assume that everyone knows. Hope this makes sense! :) I guess I just need more explicit instructions. Thanks! |

I'm not sure. I'm at the office right now, not at home where I can look at it. How can I tell which one it is? Can you explain it for both? |

When you start Album they open yours pic in time line that Album. When you do the righ click with a mouse on sellectet pic you have option, Quick Fix wich built in to that soft or Standart Edit wich open automaticaly Element Like second windows. So if you do Quick fix in Album thay save and modifite you file automaticaly or they may ask you if you wish to replase this file with new , or you have to store like edit file.
2. When you do the standart edit thay lock you original pic and open second soft Adobe Elemnt 3
witch is lite edition of Photoshop 8 or (CS)
When you finish editing you go to FILE and select SAVE AS .Finish this and close Adobe Element they ask you to SAVE click NO and close application, after this Adobe Album unlock you original image.

Thanks! I'll look at it when I get home & see if I can figure out what you're talking about. I printed down what you told me. Thanks again. |

This is what it looks like. It says Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 (editor) at the top of the screen. I've gotten it to save now but it seems to be saving over the original instead of keeping the original the way it was and saving the edited version as another one. Do they have a better book out to buy on Elements 3.0/Plus Premier Elements (more in depth than what came with the software)?

Thanks, I'll try that. I've only had the software 4 days, so there's still a LOT for me to figure out. It's strange, before when I was editing the pictures, when I clicked on File, I couldn't click on "save" or "save as". But tonight, when I tried it again, I could. I don't know why it would let me tonight but wouldn't let me the night before. As far as I know, I was doing the same things.
