he is a seriously talented guy no doubt and a really nice one at that. Along that line i also like Jack Johnson. You would probably like an australian band The John Butler Trio.

I'm not listening to anything right now. Here is what kept me going at work today (whoever invented the iPod should get some kind of medal at least!):

 Shostakovich - Symphony #6
 Gershwin - Rhapsody In Blue
Moody Blues - A Question Of Balance
Mozart - Flute And Harp Concerto
 Haydn - Symphony #101
King Crimson - Larks Tongues In Aspic
Pink Floyd - Ummagumma (live album)
 Procol Harum - Broken Barricades

Originally posted by parrothead: P.S. Watch his DVD, and you will be amazed at a Bongo Solo. Never thought I would appreciate bongos like that? Its like sseing Ian Anderson play the flute. Its inspiring! Listen to it all!!! He is just a wonderful and timeless musican and songwriter. I could'nt say enough about him! |

Cool, I'll look for him, but better yet, an Ian Anderson fan? He's so talented, and intelligent. I've seen Tull a number of times through the years but I saw Ian at a special "Rubbing Elbows with Ian Anderson" tour, which was part talk show and part music, and he is wonderfully entertaining at both.

I have his The Secret Language of Birds solo CD which is very good!

And if you ever have to put a slide show with music, which I do for my daughters Crew team, it makes a great background.

For that matter, if you like Ian Anderson's flute solos, and New Age music, check out Rhonda Larson, "Distant Mirrors". The song "The Way of the River" makes a wonderful background song which goes from soft and slow to very energetic and loud!

Van Halen (both David and Sammy)
 Led Zep
 Metallica
 Fleetwood Mac
 Pink Floyd
All classic rock and some alternative.

And depending on my mood (or poker night) I also like the old swingin' jazz: Frank, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Basie, Ella etc.

I also like classical and almost every 80's artist there ever was, although my two faves have to be Huey Lewis and the News and INXS |

 Yay - me too.
We are going to see them in Philly May 14. Am hoping to catch them again on their third leg in the fall - tickets were a bear to get.

On my playlist right now are: Tori Amos, Muse, Rachmaninoff/v, Hannah Fury, Unto Ashes, Mozart, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack, Cecilia Bartoli, Liszt, Murderdolls, Zoltan & His Gypsy Ensemble, Maria Callas singing Un Bel Di [vedremo...] from Puccini's Madama Butterfly (this gets a full explanation due to my extreme adoration of it), and Joan Baez.

I obviously rip my CDs to mp3 :) There are more on my list, but I decided enough listing was enough :P

These days music does influence my photography a lot since I'm working with these guys...

Then at home when I'm working, I listen to very creative stuff like Frank Zappa, Tom Waits... White Stripes also vibes well with me.

 Neither do I!!!!
I once had a flatmate who was a Beatles fanatic and played the Beatles all the time. I got my share of Beatles for live then, and I don't like to hear any more. The music is good, but I've had more than enough.

I'm gonna break style here with my musical taste I guess. ;-) Mostly Rn'R, rockabilly, garage stuff.
--> Rocket from the Crypt, Reigning Sound, Hot Snakes, All American Playboys, Dirtbombs, Detroit Cobras, Supersuckers, Smugglers, ...

Also alot of older jazz/blues/soul/funk stuff.
--> Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Django Reinhardt, Ethiopiques compilations, Riz Ortolani, ...

 And then some soundtracks.
--> Lost in Translation, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Straight Story, Shaun of the Dead, Miller's Crossing, Big Lebowski, ...

I play music all the time, so it's safe to say it's a huge influence on my photography and other work. |

Barney sucks! Teach your children music appreciation. Led Zeppelin rocks.
