KITARO?!!! - omg have to go dig out the dusty road case and listen, haven't been Sitar'd in way too long.

Lately simply due to life circumstances and a healthy dose of depression, Pink Floyd has been the only stuff I've really spent any time listening to. Perhaps I should click the welikethemoon link...

I only have one Kitaro, it's Dream, and it features Jon Anderson (from Yes) singing several songs. It's a fantastic album. But I don't see the connection with a Sitar. I don't hear any Sitar on that album anyway...

But I do like New Age Harp--e.g., Andreas Vollenweider

what is a parrothead? Do i dare ask?

Oh hell, here we go, margaritaville

ok that is just plain weird

Weird!?!

You haven't done living right until you've eaten cheeseburgers and conch fritters at Margaritaville. Then you wonder over to the pier and watch the sunset with a few hundred of your newest friends. Then it's back to the main street to whichever bar is playing your kind of music. I miss Key West!

So do I

At the moment... the soundtrack to Kissing Jessica Stein. I love Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Blossom Dearie.

Some other artists I listen to from time to time would be Jack Johnson, Chris Isaak, Johnny Cash any of his American Recordings... Rusty Cage, Hurt, Delia's Gone, who can forget Ring of Fire ... well pretty much anything he did, may he rest in peace. Guster, any old 80's stuff like Erasure, Yaz, Joy Division... etc, etc, etc.

Andreas is another great! Perhaps I'l toss that one in the queue as well. 'The Best of Ten Years (1976-1986)' Kitaro plays a whole heck of a lot of things besides synth, there were a few that featured sitar and I always related that sound to his music, despite the ethereal movements.

Between 86 and 90, I hosted a college radio show 'The Dwarf in the Box' 3 hours of New Age every Wednesday Night. Never got many calls tho, I think all my listeners fell asleep or were too busy experimenting and 'riding the tunes.' - Ah, Michael Hedges on now and Will Ackerman on deck! - Feeling better already. ;-)

I go from Mozart to Pink Floyd, depending on the inclination. Classic good for fine detail. Very big record and cd collection dating back to the 50's. lol
