That was "Time Passing".. depicting something showing how time passes.
THIS is depicting people doing something that passes the time.
*rolls eyes*.. I was hoping for another topic I could get behind and really care to shoot for. Oh well.
We'll see what comes up for Tuesday.

i think i'm starting to sit out on many challenges, they have been very exciting topics at least for me... but that's just me. :)

I've mention this already but people seem to like it a lot... i'm not saying that passing time is a revisit... and yes i agree with you people give so many suggetions and i guess there must have been many little challenges of peoples suggestions... i wonder way they have that choice of thread classification...
I'm not try to make a rant here just expressing my thoughts.

| Nice thing is you can shoot whatever you do to pass time, and then tell everyone else that their shot dosen't meet the challenge. How else does one pass time? |

I predict a LOT of pictures of people taking pictures. Isn't that how everyoen passes their time? Might be "self-portrait IV", if you ask me...

it's gonna be fun! lot's of diff things are going to show up!
IMO challenges like this one, generalist ones, are the best! Browsing through the galleries, I found this ones to be the most entertaining, to photographers and voters! We'll all have a great time with this one!

After actually reading the description of the challenge (imagine that!) I feel a little better about this one. I have a few ideas, but I'm more excited about seeing what others will submit!

Well this challenge should at least get people out and about to get a decent shot. I suppose you could do a setup/studio type shot for this, but I imagine the winning photos for this one will be more on the candid side (person sleeping on a bus stop bench, etc...). So, for those looking for a more photojournalistic type scenario (recent threads in past couple days) - here you go! :-)

IMO, taking picture is a hobby... I know, I know, hobby is something we do to pass time, but not always because many people would like to do their hobbies a lot more but they do not have enough time for it.
I was having a discussion on that with my wife, and we both agree that this this challenge is more about what does somebody do when he is waiting, either for somebody or at the airport, etc.
Am I right?

Alain,
You're probably correct, technically. That's certainly a valid interpretation. But I wouldn't bet the farm on the majority of voters hewing to that line. Look for lots of hobby shots, I'd say.
If people only shot what they do when "waiting", I suspect we'd have virtually nothing but listening to music shots and reading shots, with a few oddball entries like knitting and yoga poses...
