| Are we allowed to use filters that attached to our camera lens while shooting for a challenge, such as starlight filters and the such? |

| I'm new here, so I don't really know for sure, but I would think so. It's just the post processing that is restricted (at least in the basic challenges). |

Anything done "in camera" is fine.

Have you tried using the colored plastic films? Lika "Saran" wrap? There are several colors, and alot cheaper than actual camera filters, and can provide almost the same results. Even the clear film will give a nice effect.
