4.5 pounds of massive glass...this is an outrageous lens.

Ever wonder what your IT guys are doing when you can't find them? Did UPS or Fedex just leave...Check out back they are probably testing a new lens.

Anyways my buddy's Sigma Bigma 50-500mm showed up today so we went out back with it. Here he is with it on his Minolta 7D...I am ready to toss out my Tamron 28-300mm XR Di LD after seeing the Handheld pics @ 500mm from this setup...I am talking sharp...puts the tamron @ 300mm to shame, you'd think I was taking picture in the fog (boo hoo).

Quick note for those shopping used lenses... KEH's rating system on used equipment is something else. He picked this up used at KEH rated at excellent minus for 700.00...we have looked it over and can't find anything that would make this less than near new except that it didn't come with the original box or instructions. The lens is near mint condition, even carrying bag looks brand new. Very cool place to do business, my buddy actually traded a film body and a couple lenses there in which they quoted him 520 cash or credit...so this was his for 200 out of pocket (plus the initial investment but he quit shooting film a while back).

I really like this lens but wouldn't want to handhold through an airshow, the 7D already weighs a ton more than my 20D but with this thing on there I was falling over.
