Have just posted pics from Beijing and the Great Wall of China. Any thoughts or recommendations would be helpful. Check it out, many more in portfolio China folder.

Joel, did you have to keep reminding yourself to breathe!?! The picture I found most intriguing is the one in which the Great Wall moves from the upper right to the lower left in the picture.

Leftover lessons from Graphic and Design classes reminded me of another rule - never go from corner to corner. Always have the end of the main design go a little off point. The far end of your portion of the wall does so, but the lower part leads directly to corner, which in turn left the open end of wall right at center bottom.

Leaving the top right as it is, I would have tried to pull the bottom portion of the Wall up the left side by at least 1/2", which in turn would have positioned the open portion farther to left along the bottom. This would then allow the eye to enjoy the land surrounding the Wall, rather than going straight off the end of the picture.

This corner-to-corner design rule nearly becomes an obsession after awhile (although, not as annoying as is the 1/3-rule!) All in all, however, I truly enjoyed this photo. Kathy
