Hi! Just had a fantastic day trip down to NYC with some friends who were patient enough to walk slowly through Central Park while I snapped loads of photos!
I live in Boston now, but grew up in NYC. The Gates really highlight the winding paths of the park. The color and motion make you pay much more attention to your surroundings than you normally would in February in New York. Wonderful to see so many people wandering about the park with dreamy expressions on their faces.
Just adding a couple more...

Nice pics and it sounds like a good time. I can see how it might brighten up the winter landscape. |

These photos make me feel so nostalgic, I used to hang out a lot there when I lived in NYC.The atmosphere is amazing, especially in autumn time. Nice photos |

I've been DYING to see this!!! (in person however).
I watched a whole program on the making of it last weekend (on Discovery) and this week was the "let down" of all the material. It was an amazing process - it was 25+ years in the making. If you're in New York - GO SEE IT. It was created by world reknowned artist (insert names???) and is impressive to say the least.
They're known for taking entire islands and wrapping them in fabric - amazing work!
P.S> There's a total of 7000 gates.
