The photos I give ones out to are those tiny blurry shots that look like they came out of a cell phone. So, if you are one of those people, sorry. :)

I have had people leave their vote in the comment and I respected it enough that started it myself. I may have fallen away from it over time, but probably because I didn't want to include until I had gone through all the images and adjusted accordingly. With all the entries, I never get back to adding my vote to the comments. I still like the idea and commend those who have the courage to put the vote for all to see.

Most of the "10" voters say as much in the comments, if not outright telling you what they voting you can guess it was high.

As far as the "1" votes, I think those frequently come from random trolls who don't participate themselves or are just bitter mean people voting everyone down to improve their own sorry ego. I know I've never submitted a photo worth a "1" so I really don't worry about it. Everyone gets them, so they even out in the long run.

So no, not really. :)

There ya go, mystery solved. Every 1 ever given out came from me.

:-)

Ever consider going into politics back home? ;)

I pretty much know why I get 1s when I do. For about half the challenges I enter I donĂ¢€™t get any 1s, for a number of the others I will get 1 or 2 1s and these are the photos has not done well over all. The only time I get a lot of 1s is when I try to do a humorous photo.

I never give ones or tens. One is next to nothing and ten is perfect (there's no such thing). My votes generally range from 3 to 7.

Avg Vote Cast: 5.2815

a "10" doesn't have to mean "perfect"; it can also mean "I think this is the best picture in this challenge!" A "1" is definitely next to nothing, but there are plenty of images that deserve a score that low IMO.

I mostly give out 0s and 11s, either I like a photo or I don't.

In the last three challenges I entered there was an average point spread of only 3.78 points between first and last places. 7.323 being highest and 3.288 the lowest. In these challenges the average vote cast was 5.35 for all voters that participated. I have noticed that the bell curve for most of my recent pictures show this trend also.

I try giving -1s and 12s but somehow they get messed up.

You can't even imagine how bad it would get, at one time Photo.net would tell you who gave you what rating. We are not even talking about a contest just ratings, they had to stop this do to the feuds that would get started. People are welcome to vote a one on my photos but I would rather not know who did it.
