I need some advice, I live in the UK and our lens prices (and other) are higher than those in the US. My friend is heading over to New York in April and I am going to ask her to get me a lens (the Tamron 28-75mm XR di 2.8).
Could anyone advise which would be the best store to go to and easy to find?

| B&H's superstore is on 9th ave in Manhattan. That would be my first choice - I keep missing the chance to go in because it seems I am always in the city on Saturdays (when they are closed) instead of Sunday or a weekday when they are open. Check their hours on that link, they are sort of all over the place. |

Thanks for that, I have saved the link in my favourites. And you are right they do have strange opening times.

Another question for you all.
My friend (who is getting me my lens) wants to know a good place to stay (in NY). 1 night cheapish (not overly cheap) and 1 night more exclusive but not over expspensive.

| I always wondered about B&H Photo's hours too until I actually went there ... they are all Hassidic Jewish people. Jews celebrate the Sabbath on Saturday, so they cannot do any work on that day (after sundown on Friday nights). It's an amazing store - one block long, very intimidating! |
