Hello DPC'ers,
I went along to a local lake today with my new camera to try out the zoom lens, and I'd love to hear any comments on how to improve aspects of these images:

Any tips on taking pics of birds you might have would be great too - it is so difficult focusing before the subject flies off again!!
Thanks for any comments,
Dave

I usually just ask them to wait for just a second while I focus... You can guess how well that works. |

David,
Great shots, #1 and #2 are my favorites, in #4 I think the background is just too busy, along with the color tones being close to the birds, it kind of gets lost at first glance in the pic. The expression on the bird in #2 is awesome, as is the detail in the feathers on #1!! Keep up the good work!

I agree that the first one is by far the best. Looks like the zoom lens is very sharp. As for photographing birds, you'll have an easier time if you settle into an area and let them become accustomed to you rather than following them around like paparazzi... kind of makes 'em nervous for some reason :)! |

The C-765UZ has a 38-380mm zoom lens, and I used it at the maximum 380mm setting.
