Ok - right off the bat I'll tell you I know almost nothing about photograqhy. If it's not point and shoot I don't know how to do it. I'm trying to photograph glassware (crystal with a flower pattern) and have had nothing but problems with glare/reflection. I have an Olympus C-700 Ultra Zoom.

If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it so much. Please keep in mind with replys that I really don't know what all the technical jargon means.

I've tried with flash and without, outside and inside, lots of light and in the dark, sunlight, overcast, pitch-black, overhead lighting (regular table lights - with shades on and off and/or ceiling lights. I don't have any special typ of lighting equipment.

Are you trying to use the flash Jackie? Inside or outside? Can you give us a few more details of what you're doing then we'll be able to help a bit more.

If all ya got is stuff around the house...then take a white sheet and make a box (kind of like a tent) to put the item inside of. Hit the box with light from two sides. That's the quick and dirt way I found to take those kinds of shots.

And make the "back wall" of the tent black or a color if that helps pick up the details of the etching on the crystal.
