that was wide open(1.8), dusk, ISO 400 i think. The DOF was less than i had hoped for, but the AF might have grabbed a branch and not the house.

That what happens with any lens used wide open for landscape,you have to go down to f11-f16 for sharper image !

Here's a bunch of shots in very dim lighting inside a pub/restaurant at night... lighting was limited to candlelight and dim incandescents.

Most are ISO 1600, there are a couple with ISO 800, all handheld, and shutter speeds ranged from 1/6 sec to 1/30 sec, depending on reflections and such. Everything was done in Av mode set wide open (f/1.8) on a Canon 50mm f/1.8 MkII.
