I tried to bid on it. Tell me what you want. If it is low enough you can take it off ebay and I will buy it.

There are a few out there that try it. And as for deceiving people with the thread title, its more a case of good advertising and I'm sure there will be a few 'watchers' from this thread! My worry with this thread is the fact that nsbca7 is so worried the 1DS is going to pack in that the backup cam needs upgrading!

Hehehe
Deapee & rex07734 & I are all playing ping pong right now with it.

Edit: Add 1 bod in there too. Whee - a foursome!
LOL

And from what I've heard, they are announcing the Rebel's successor, the 350 I believe, in 3 days (the 14th)

How about a book to guess what the winning bid will be?

$753?

I'm utterly confused as to why people pay any attention to items that have multiple days left in bidding!

Do you really not understand that within 6 days this rebel will be at market value on ebay, just like every other one?

Don't get me wrong, I hope you get lots of bucks for it...I just don't get what makes this rebel any different than another that people are suddenly bidding on it!

You read my mind. The 1Ds is off on another one of it's long and frequent vacations to the sunny state of NJ.

Yeah, well feel free to bid on mine! It's the digital rebel but with the kit lens. I, too, want to upgrade to the 20D. I put mine at $699 (no reserve) - feel free to buy it for that - I just wanna get my hands on that 20D! Any questions, feel free to email me!

I know what you mean I might as well pay full retail for it. This way I will get a new one and will know it is under warranty.

Suggestion: Put up actual pics instead of stock ones. It tends to attract more bids and make buyers more comfortable. Especially with high ticket items like these.

My 1Ds is off being repaired and the 20D hasn't arrived yet so I don't know how I would do that unless I used a mirror or something. It works for Canon. Besides, if you need trust look at my rating. That's what most Ebayers do. I've been on Ebay for a while.

I want to know how much he want's for it. If it is low enough I will buy it and let him take it off Ebay. Way to save money.

Oh Thanks Neil

As policy I never do that. It wouldn't be fair to the other bidders who spent their time looking this item up and reading through the description. Perhaps it will sell lower then what you expected to pay for it anyway and if it meets the reserve we will both be happy, right? Just keep an eye on it if you are interested. You don't have to bid right away.

HAHA! That's like selling a car for 1 cent but to drive it off the lot, you need to pay the security booth $20,000 in parking fees.

That's what I would do. You wouldn't catch me buying a used digital camera.

I thought ebay charged commissions based on selling price, not reserve price or starting price.
02/11/2005 09:57:27 PM · #49
Starting Price Insertion Fee
$0.01 - $0.99 $0.25
$1.00 - $9.99 $0.35
$10.00 - $24.99 $0.60
$25.00 - $49.99 $1.20
$50.00 - $199.99 $2.40
$200.00 - $499.99 $3.60
$500.00 or more $4.80

Your thinking of motor vehicles and real esate. Different scale.
