Mine would have a built-in automatic DPChallenge ribbon-winning mechanism.

o All firmware / custom curves could be uploaded simply by placing them in a directory of the CF card. No special external s/w required.

o Camera fully PTP compliant with no proprietary extensions. Again, no special s/w required to control /c apture from a laptop running ANY operating system.

o Sensor that never gets dirty, cleans itself.

o Large back-panel LCD with enough resolution to get a better idea about the depth of field in a shot just taken.

o Bright, large viewfinder with EXACT duplication of image size. Something like the Nikon F6.

o Perl interpreter built into the camera body with Perl::NikonCapture lib installed to allow 100% control over post-processing.

o Badassness goes to a new level: Brushed dark titanium finish on a 100% weather sealed body.

I'm starting to twitch... Better cut this thought off!

Are you kidding me? We already test our wive's patience with glass budgets. This would be a dead-end upgrade path for me!

Would that force field keep you from your own camera?

1. Make a full size sensor DSLR camera.
2. Higher ISO's
3. Smart Lens A lens that would replace all others 18mm - 400mm using bi-directional communication with the camera. The camera could have the best 5 or so lens settings and with one touch of the dial you could set your lens to what you want. Say if you want a '400mm EF f/4 DO IS USM Zoom Lens', select that setting and the camera will fix the lens to that specification. You want a '85mm f/1.8 USM EF Lens', again the camera sets the lens to that specification, and so on.

What about some voice recognition so we can do away with timers and remoters.

what about a super-fast burst rate- like 50 shots/sec on full res. untill the card fills.

and make it about 30 megapixels or so.

Just think you could program it to fire only when the subject(s) says, "CHEESE."

I'm hoping eventually that some third party CCD/CMOS maker is going to make chips and firmware to upgrade today's bodies. Just think if you could send your 10D out to get a 12 MP sensor installed.

And get yourself a new supah-computah as well, it should come free with the camera. Like 10GB Ram and a 10000Mhz processor, preferably dual. I don't even want to think about processing a 30mp RAW right now.
