Whew we got that outa the way! |
So with this challenge in mind
The challenge is to photograph a bridge. .... bridging from one state of mind to another. A bridge is not always a physical structure. Let your imagination run freely as you choose a bridge to photograph.
Sarcasm On
OK... so I know this friend that's a friend of a friend and I'm going to use their name as the title and then I'm going to point the camera in front of me and shoot air, that's right air ... that will be the State of mind bridging between the left ear and the right ear.
This should be an easy challenge!
OK... LOL just had to use some of my sarcasm here... just cause I could! Yes, time for bed and work in 4 hours...
Sarcasm Off

We don't have any bridges around here, no flowing water. There are bridges on the other side of the island, maybe a weekend trip is called for? Or maybe I will just vist the dentist and photograph a bright there. |

I have the perfect idea:
A macro of a flower will be the bridge that pinkly connects my lovely cat with my one and the only beautiful unique child!

No trip to the dentist needed, I've got the cure for all the landlocked photographers out there. Picture this....old people around a table playing cards....guess what they're playing.....you got it. BRIDGE!!!!Now go round up some old folks and a deck of cards...:)

Or you can get subtle and do a lovingly-rendered macro of a guitar player fingering a bridge... Good luck!

I think before anyone enters a challenge they should look up the definition of the word for each challenge. It would give them more ideas. Also if you vote please take the 5 minutes to look up all the definitions of the word. I have noticed that their are a lot of smart people on this site and you will see that most every challenge is met by everybody if you do this. I will even help make it easy for you.

lol at this post, some of the ideas on here ain't bad. I have a few ideas myself but i'll probably settle on a simpler one as i'm not sure whether people will recognise the 'bridge' in my entry without using a clever title... but that would probably include the word bridge, and i think that's cheesy. Anyone the same way?

I just bought a tripod at J&R in downtown Manhattan and opened it up in The Winter Garden at The World Financial Center and got shut down immediately.
I am just about to leave my apartment for some bridgehunting, camera in hand, and just now decided not to take my tripod.
Smart move??? I think so. |

On a serious note, if you're truly worried about this, be prepared. Print out the challenge page! Take your tripod with you. (How many terrorists have you read about busted while taking pictures with a camera on a tripod?) Have some answers ready! "I'm an amateur photographer given a challenge to take a truly great picture of a bridge. I'm moved by this bridge because of the contrasts between the old brick of the bridge and the modern buildings behind it!" I really don't think cops are runnin' around saying to their partner, 'hey lets raz some photographers takin' pitchers of bridges this shift'... |

Just thought of another idea for the contest, although i've already submitted my entry.
If you live in the UK and you're stuck for an idea for the closing deadline you could get yourself one of those £1 coins with the Forth Road Bridge (i think) on it and title the entry "Toll Bridge" or the likes :P
ack well, i don't have the coin anymore! typical. |
