I have a band that's needing to take a promotion picture and I'm curious as to what equipment I need to do this. All I have right now is my 20D and a 50mm 1.4 lens. I'm able to buy more equipment, but I don't know what all I need. The pictures are most likely going to be B&W, but I might take a few for color too. They're not sure whether they want to do it indoors or ourdoors. What I'm wondering what equipment do I need for either or and if anyone might have any advice or tips or whatever.

Anyone? I just need information for outdoor portraits. Do I need a flash or not, camera settings, things like that. Any advice of the sort.

I think it depends on the look you are going for, A flash would probably be a good idea. If you are outdoors, I personally like the neutral lighting of an overcast day if I am shooting portraits.

i'd probably say that the one thing you should really have is a 5-in-1 collapsible refector. it will help you guide the light to where you need it to go, and with the 5-in-1, you can choose how the light will work. here's a link:

B & H disc

also, filters are a big help. such ones as neutral density, polarizer, uv have and protection, and so on.

as far as lights, that depends on the availablity of carrying things around and where to plug them in. and i'm not the one to give you advice on lights. i'm hoping to get some as well. good luck.
