Does anyone here use SmugMug Pro to host their photography website? I can't believe I just today stumbled on it- I thought smugmug was more like pbase or buzznet or something, just a photosharing site. But I'm checking out the "specs" on their pro account and it sounds excellent in all respects. I'd like to hear some user opinions. Thanks!

We use the standard account and it works very well for us.
i.e. features and website uptime/speed etc are very good.

I am a Power user and smugmug is excellent in all aspects.
They also answer questions and often incorperate suggestions from The smugmug forum at Dgrin.com.

No, we haven't tried to sell prints.

I have been using PBase but am having a lot of problems with "lost" images. I think it's time to look at something different. I could create my own site, but that would just take time away from my photography. I'm curious what people think of smugmug pro?

Yeah so am I, that's why I started the thread ;) Perhaps not many folks are using it here. It seems to be a great price for everything you get, and it really looks like they bent over backwards to get the best quality when choosing a printer.

I've had a smugmug pro account for a while now and I really like it. You can check my site out by clicking the link below in my sig. I just sold a batch of prints on Saturday.

If you decide to sign up, let me know and I can save you a few bucks on your subscription.

I've have a pro account, but found it's really more than I need. I don't really use them anymore for my prints because the results were inconsistent. It is a great way to organize and share your work though and you can use your own web address. Here's mine if you're interested.

Unless they've changed providers, I don't think it's true. They did probably choose the best of the average ones though.

I was basing that statement on the information on this page:
//www.smugmug.com/prints/digital-prints.mg

Instead of just picking one, they did a lot of testing first.

I notice you use an email address that doesn't use your domain name. Does smugmug not give you at least one email address if they're hosting your site?

I have a Smugmug Pro account. You can see it here.

As I've been doing some weddings and portraits lately, I find it to be a nice tool for selling the photos. I can charge a set fee for photographing, and then they can get as many prints as they want. We set our prices pretty cheap, but we also charge for the sitting or event.

I like Smugmug, though I wish use of their galleries was more flexible.

Okay, just wanted to see if I can get any more response on this thread. Has anyone else had any experiences with Smugmug prints? It's the only thing keeping me from opening an account. As much as I like DPCP, I really like the additional features Smugmug offers, like watermarking, integration with my site, etc. Thanks in advance.
