On these two shots. Both were taken at Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio. Thanks and I will try to return the favor for any commentors.

I was there back in December, wonderfully beautiful place, even at 19F and covered in ice!

Your waterfall shot is certainly different to the norm and I think in part that's why it has added interest. The girls certainly add something different and it balances up the shot quite well. The red and green in the second shot compliment each other very well.

I like the B&W, it has good contrast. I like the other one too but wonder if you had been closer to the steps themselves if that would bring more to the photo.

For the steps photo, do you mean shooting from a lower perspective on the steps - holding the camera down more?

Judy, I left you some comments. I forgot to add that I think it might be interesting to see the steps in B&W as well.

Here are a few edits using some of your ideas.

Is this better of the women? There was no more photo at the top of the crop to add, but I worked a little with the contrasts and highlights in the areas you mentioned.

Here's two versions of the stairs in b/w. Both have been cropped slightly from the color version. One b/w is sharper, the other has had a bit of glow / softening effect added. I think I still like the color version better, but these are nice too I think. Just depends on the look I'd be going for. They all have different strengths.

EDIT: Last version for now.

i like this one better, it distinguishes the wall from the rest of the picture better.
