I stumbled upon a great program today. It is free and it's called Xfire. It's like an IM client, but it detects when you are playing a game online, and shows you as playing. It then allows you to carry on chatting within the game without having to atl-tab out. Not only that, people on your contact list can see what server you are playing in and join you in 1 easy click! It supports RPGs, FPSs, and all other types of online games! (Yes, even PartyPolka!) I saw the MSN community thread the other day and so I thought it would be great to all add each other on this program too :)
My username is konador.
I look forward to playing some online games with you all!

Hey Ben, I just got highspeed and the only online gaming I've done is poker...what's your favourite game or two right now? I'd like to do more of this...
I probably wouldn't want to do many rpg's or anything that takes a lot of commitment...

I gave up on my pc (too slow, too expensive to upgrade) and got an xbox. I play Madden 2004 every once in awhile on pc though.
On a similar note, anyone have xbox live? I'll have it til the end of feb (username Maverick ME) if anyone wants to play on that (Halo 2, Crimson Skies, NCAA football 2005, Top Spin or Mech Assault) |

At the moment I'm playing counter-strike 1.6 (or source when I can nick my brothers computer for a bit) a fair bit, also have UT2004 but not played that in a while. Mainly those, and other random things, including poker sometimes, not with real money tho :P It is like Steam but with more games, and it isnt down 23 hours a day, lol. Anyone downloaded the program?

I have Crimson Skies out of all of those, and XBox Live.. which I also have until the end of Feb.. but I'm definitely extending it. I also have Burnout 3, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty: Finest Hour and ESPN NHL 2k5
I *HIGHLY* recommend Burnout 3
oh.. and my username is artyste. Same as anywhere. lol

Ventrilo
Xfire seems interesting but have you considered Ventrilo? Instead of taking finger time away from your fragging you can just use your mic and talk to your friends.
Personally, I play CS a lot and prefer not to have communication inside or outside the game with people I don't know. By default I have voice turned off. Too many little kids playing music through their mics or talking about un-game-related topics.

Just renewed mine...handle = FrancoDePaw
If you have never tried Outlaw Volleyball, I think you can get it pretty cheap now...u gotz to try it...2 on 2 volleyball not done in Japanamation but more like trailer trash...some fine daisy duke type babes (there's some hunky dudes for the lady folk) anyways mechanics are awesome. On-line there are some pros playing this one so be careful whom you match with.
Don't have Halo2 but that's next on my list (just finishing Fable).
Project Gotham 2 is pretty awesome for racing.

You have to buy it, or you can buy Half Life 2, and you get counter strike source for free.
Beware, very addictive.
But IMHO, the best online shooter on the market.

Cloud... if you want to play Counter-Strike cheaply then go to the bargain bin at your local computer store and pick up a copy of the original Half Life for $10. Then you can download CS and steam for free and play.
